Overview
The Line and Prep Cook is an essential part of the kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking menu items efficiently and to the highest quality standards. They ensure food is plated attractively, prepared on time, and meets food safety regulations. Working in collaboration with their team, the Line and Prep Cook helps maintain an organized, clean, and well-stocked kitchen while ensuring a positive work environment. Must be comfortable working in outdoor conditions.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.00 CAD.
This is a seasonal role from approximately June 1, 2025- October 15, 2025.
EVERGREEN ROLE: Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.
Responsibilities
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff, following the specifications, recipes and techniques of the company
Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Set up stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Garnish each dish in a creative and aesthetically pleasing manner
Ensure that the correct quantities are prepared to meet daily needs
Monitor product freshness and rotate out old product based on a schedule created by the restaurant
Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Culinary school diploma or other professional culinary certificates
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a cook
In-depth knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures characteristic of the Italian cuisine
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Comfortable working with a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Must be able to work different shifts, which may include holidays, evenings and weekends
Able to legally work in Canada
